Integrating Career Awareness into the ABE & ESOL Classroom: Curriculum Guide

ICA cover

Curriculum Handouts

To give the curriculum maximum flexibility, we have designed the handouts so that you can use them as they are or modify them to meet the needs of your classroom. For example, you might want to add local information, include pictorial graphics to aid lower-level ESOL students, or break an activity into smaller steps.

To download the handouts, click on the specific handout below. The handouts are organized by the sub-section in which they belong in the curiculum and all of them are in Word format.

Section I: The Cultural Context for Career Awareness

Section II: The Self-Exploration Process

Section III: Occupational Exploration

Section IV: Career Planning Skills

Appendix A: Lesson Planning

The CD containing the curriculum and accompanying handouts is free with a $5.00 shipping and handling charge per CD.

The CD can be ordered by completing the order form and following the ordering instructions. If you have any questions, please e-mail us at literacy@worlded.org.

You can also download the curriculum in a PDF format by clicking here. To download the modifiable handouts in Word format, please visit the download page by clicking here.

This curriculum was developed with funding from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Nellie Mae Education Foundation.
